Fern Hill Reservoir No. 2 – Joint Water Commission

Forest Grove, OR

KCI was the site work and underground piping contractor for this 16-acre water reservoir project that included construction of a 20 million gallon concrete water storage reservoir, the seismic retrofitting and modification of piping at an existing reservoir, the construction of filtration and overflow ponds and the installation of miscellaneous pipelines connecting to the existing water treatment plant and interconnection the two reservoirs. Other major components of this project included the excavation and stockpiling of over 250,000 cubic yards or soil from the reservoir site.

North Hillsboro Transmission Line Phase 2B, City of Hillsboro

Hillsboro, Oregon.

KCI was selected for this unique $23 million project to install approximately 5 miles of 72-inch welded steel waterline connecting the Hillsboro Water Treatment Plant in Forest Grove to the City of Cornelius.  Along the alignment was a bored crossing under the Tualatin River, nesting eagles near the river, the Fernhill Wetlands and residential streets in Cornelius.  This project was administered by the City of Hillsboro on behalf of the Joint Water Commission, consisting of the Cities of Cornelius, Hillsboro, Sherwood, Beaverton and Portland.


In addition to the transmission main and associated appurtenances, project components included 3,500 lineal feet of 10-inch to 30-inch storm drainage pipe, over 2,900 lineal feet of sanitary sewer force main, four bores and micro-tunnels navigating the waterways of the upper Tualatin River basin and its wetlands totaling approximately 2,000 lineal feet, 800 lineal feet of new street, sidewalk and utility construction, storm drainage and sanitary sewer replacement, cathodic protection, telemetry conduit, and surface restoration.


Ocean Effluent Line Replacement, Georgia Pacific

Toledo, Oregon

KCI is the general contractor for this four-phase, $10 million, 24-inch diameter pipeline replacement project.  Now constructing the final phase of this nine mile alignment, KCI is replacing a deteriorating 21-inch diameter outfall pipe that runs from the Georgia Pacific pulp and paper plant in Toledo to the Pacific Ocean at Nye Beach in Newport.
